Setting up e-mail Autoresponders is a simple task with our control panel system. Autoresponders can be used for many reasons, to send a message or additional information to people without having to reply to each one. Many people use an auto responder with their main e-mail address to say something like, "Thank you for contacting us, a representative will contact you as soon as possible". Others use something like an e-mail address that has no mailbox, and send extra information e-mails.
Here is how to set up an autoresponder.
In your control panel, click on the mail manager icon, then select the autoresponder link.
This will take you to the page where you can see any autoresponders you have, listed. You can delete them, or edit them by clicking the correct link to the right of them.
At the bottom of that page, you will see a link to "Add Autoresponder", click it to create a new autoresponder message.
The first box has you put in an e-mail address that will trigger the autoresponder. You do not have to have a mailbox for it, but you can.
If you want to send extra info for people that ask, then you could perhaps make the address, moreinfo@yourdomain.com and when they e-mail that address, they will automatically get more information sent, without you lifting a finger.
After you have put in the first half of the address, then make sure the drop down menu is showing your main domain that this is for.
Then, enter an address as the "From" address. This is the one they will reply to if they hit reply in their e-mail program. You would most likely want it to be a real address that you answer from.
Then, add a subject and your text.
Hit the "Create" button, and your done. It will start working right away.
The current control panel version we are using sends out text only autoresponder messages. We do have an alternate version of control panel for those that wish to send HTML autoresponder messages. We don't recommend it, but it is getting more and more popular for people to read html e-mails.
HTML Autoresponder Messages:
If you want to send html autoresponder messages, please e-mail admin@superior-host.com, or support@superior-host.com , and ask to have the "iconic" control panel version installed on your site, so you can send html autoresponder messages. There is no fee for it, it is simply a different look than the one we currently use. They are the same system... just different skins.
