Superior-Host Customer Guide

Changing your Domain Name Servers:

When you get your welcome e-mail, look near the lower 2/3rds to find the name servers your domain needs to be set to. Then, you can go to the domain sales site, (Your Registry) and make the change to our name servers.

Your "Name Server Settings" must be changed to point to your account on our server. You originally purchased your domain name from a register, and this register is where your current DNS settings reside. That is, unless you transferred your domain name to an alternate register, in which case, you would control your DNS settings from there.

Simply go to your domain registers web site, and look around for links, which point to something like, domain manager, manage domain, or something of that administrative nature. In your welcome e-mail, you were sent DNS settings, which look similar to this example:
ns.superior-host.com
66.103.135.3
and
ns2.superior-host.com
66.103.135.4

Most registries have made managing your Name Servers a simple and fast process. There are a few exceptions, but most of the new registris are quite simple.

You just log in, and click on the manage Domain Name Servers, or DNS to go to the page to put in the new name server information. With most registries, you simply remove the name servers listed, then put in our name servers. Some make you do one at a time, but most let you change both at once. Make sure you put in the name servers we send to you in your welcome e-mail. We have several servers, so putting the name servers that are listed in the above example may not be what you need.

Once again, if you need help getting this done, please contact us and we will be more than happy to assist you.
